Veronique (Nikky) studied Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland and it was through a lecture about the benefits of clinical Pilates that her interest was sparked in finding out more about Pilates. After attending Pilates classes at a local gym for a while she made the decision to obtain qualifications in mat and reformer Pilates herself. Her teaching experience has been diverse, ranging from instructing mat and reformer Pilates to small groups in her local community to working with physiotherapy clients as part of their rehabilitation or fitness programs. She takes great pleasure in witnessing clients progressively experiencing the sense of enhanced postural strength and balance that Pilates exercises offer, benefiting functional movements in everyday life and all kinds of sports activity. In addition to her passion for Pilates, she also finds joy in practicing manual treatment through remedial massage. Beyond the manual therapy and fitness, Veronique expresses her preference for ‘manual work and play’ in working with clay to create quirky ceramic pieces and the more recent addition of messing around with water and flour as part of the process of creating rustic sourdough loafs.
